Icora Platform Overview: Every Tool, Explained

This page is the map of everything Icora does. Each section gives you the what and the why, with pointers to the deeper guide for the how. If you are evaluating the platform or just want to know what a button does, start here.

Create: Three Ways In

AI Generation builds whole sets, not singles. You control the style (presets like Flat Line Art, Isometric 3D, Pixel Art, Neon Glow), the palette (custom hex colors, two-tone schemes, or monochrome), and the count. A consistency engine keeps line weight and perspective shared across the batch, which is the hard part of icon sets and the main reason to generate them together rather than one at a time.

Upload & Extract is for assets you already have. Drop in a sprite sheet, an old icon set, or a screenshot — AI vision detects the individual elements, with a structural segmentation fallback when detection is ambiguous, and a cleanup pass removes debris from neighboring crops. Batch uploads are processed concurrently.

AI Remaster takes one existing image and re-renders it in a different style — sketch to finished icon, flat to isometric. Upload a style reference image alongside it to steer the output toward a specific look.

The Tracing Engine

Everything that enters Icora as pixels can leave as vectors. The tracer picks from four mode-specific algorithms, because different art styles fail differently under a one-size-fits-all trace:

• Line Art mode: centerline tracing that reconstructs strokes as strokes, instead of outlining both sides of every line.
• Isometric mode: posterized tone separation tuned for clean 3D-look shapes.
• Pixel Art mode: exact 1:1 pixel-to-rect conversion — no smoothing, no interpretation.
• Fill mode: standard color quantization for flat-color artwork, up to 64 colors with palette extraction.

Icon Studio: The Vector Editor

The Studio is a full vector editor in the browser — no desktop software required. It is where generated and traced assets become production assets.

• Selection & transforms: multi-select, deep select into groups, bounding-box scaling and rotation.
• Pen and Node tools: draw new paths, edit bezier anchor points and control handles, add or remove nodes.
• Shape and Text tools: primitives and typography that convert to editable paths.
• Magic Wand and Paint Bucket: select regions by color and refill them — raster-editor ergonomics on vector content.
• Symmetry drawing: mirror your edits live across an axis.
• Vector Eraser: boolean subtraction that slices through paths in real time.
• Magic Smooth: Laplacian smoothing that removes micro-jags from traced curves.
• Boolean operations: unite, subtract, and intersect shapes to build complex forms cleanly.
• Body-to-Line: converts filled shapes into centerline strokes using geometric analysis.
• Layers, history, and snapping: grouping, a visual undo/redo stack, and snap guides for pixel-perfect alignment.
• Complexity slider: real-time path simplification when a trace has more nodes than it needs.

Animations

Icons can ship with built-in CSS animations — entrance effects, attention seekers, continuous loops, and exits — selected from a preset library and customized per icon (duration, delay, stagger, easing). The animation is baked into the exported SVG as a self-contained style block: no JavaScript runtime, no player library, and a prefers-reduced-motion query is always included. Buyers and teammates can strip animations with one click to get the static version back. The SVG Animations guide covers the full system.

Export Options

• Optimized SVG: cleaned, metadata-free vector output.
• High-res PNG: client-side rendering up to 4K with transparent backgrounds.
• Batch ZIP: download entire collections at once.
• AI naming: every icon gets a semantic snake_case filename (user_profile_active.svg, not icon_27.svg) automatically.

Marketplace & Credits

Finished projects can be published as marketplace packs: you set the title, description, category, cover image, price in credits, and a remix policy. Buyers can download packs, remix them (create a private editable copy to build on), or use Magic Expand to generate new icons matching a purchased pack's style. Credits are the platform currency — earned from sales and royalties, or purchased directly.

Projects & Workspace

Every asset lives in a project. The workspace tracks batch processing through its stages (queued, tracing, naming, done), so you can watch a 50-icon upload move through the pipeline. Deleted projects go to a trash area with a 30-day retention window before permanent removal.
